Hyunsoo Shin

About Me

I am a Research Assistant Professor at the Research Institute of AI Convergence, Hanyang University, and a member of the Robotic Cognition & Manipulation Lab where I work with Prof. Sungon Lee and Prof. Ji-Hun Bae (Robotic Cognition & Manipulation Lab). I received my B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Hanyang University in 2015, 2017, and 2023, respectively. During my doctoral studies, I was a Visiting Scholar at KU Leuven, Belgium, in 2020. Following my Ph.D., I served as a BK Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2023–2024) and subsequently as a Research Assistant Professor (2025) at the Research Institute of Engineering and Technology. In March 2026, I joined the Research Institute of AI Convergence in my current role. My research interests focus on developing autonomous systems for advanced capabilities in complex environments, with specific expertise in robotic noninvasive brain stimulation, object pose estimation, multi-sensor fusion, and robotic grasping.
